This little one was not so little, even though she was pretty new! Very content though, and a pleasure to meet.

I snuck in a shot of one of her big brothers (sisters?) at the end... I'm a sucker for puppy dog eyes.

C, 2010 style

I am behind in posting here... my only excuse is that it's summer. So much to do and so little time!

This is the 3rd time I have taken pictures of C. This was a roughly 18-month session and as we expected... you cannot do much with an 18-month-old except follow them around and hope for the best! They are too old to be stationary and too young to bribe. Luckily, he warmed up to me after a bit, and the creekside setting provided lots of opportunities to explore.

Luscious evening light: R turns 5

I shot these tonight and am having a hard time narrowing down the number I will edit - there are so many keepers! This is due in part to shooting at a great time of day when the light is gorgeous; and also in part due to the subject being a really fun age, able to take some direction but full of his own personality, too. This makes me excited for the 5-year-portrait session I still have to do of my own little guy. (Just waiting on a prop to arrive and biding my time for a cooperative day!)

These are the first 3 I have edited. I'm sure I'll find some new favourites as I work my way through.

Now that the birthday hubbub has died down, I have finally finished editing this newborn session, which resulted in a couple of my new all-time favourite shots... namely this one:And I am pretty partial to both of these, too:And I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be one of the parents' favourites. Parents almost always love open-eye shots, and with the coy little smile and tongue stuck out like that and baby looking an awful lot like mom if you ask me... I think this one is a winner!
